Wordle started the format with a five-letter word and a green, yellow, grey grid; Sutom, Tusmo and Cémantix run the same idea in French, the last with a similarity score instead of letter colours.

How daily word games differ from each other

Some keep Wordle's exact five-letter, six-guess shape and only change the language or word list. Others change the mechanic entirely: Cémantix scores guesses by meaning rather than spelling, and anagram or crossword-style games trade the guess grid for a fixed set of letters to rearrange.

Word games in other languages

Sutom and Tusmo are the two main French takes on the Wordle grid, with small rule differences in word length and starting hints. Pédantix applies the meaning-based scoring of Cémantix to Wikipedia articles instead of single words.
