DailyMetro challenges you to identify one real metro station each day using clues drawn from the network. After you pick a city from the supported list, each guess returns feedback: which lines the station shares, the cardinal direction to the target, approximate distance, which letters match, and relative ridership. Three play modes change how you submit guesses or view hints.

The game offers three distinct modes: Classic, where you type station names and receive textual clues; Map, where you place guesses geographically on the map instead of typing names; and Photo, which shows a blurred station entrance image for cities that support it. The site lists nine playable cities now and more cities planned or available in beta.

How to play DailyMetro

  1. Pick a city from the list of available networks.
  2. Choose a mode: Classic to type names, Map to place guesses on the map, or Photo to use an image clue where available.
  3. Type any station name or place a marker to submit a guess for the hidden station.
  4. Read the feedback for each guess: shared lines, direction, distance, letter matches and ridership clues.
  5. Use the directional arrow and distance information to narrow your next guess until you find the station of the day.
  6. Share your emoji grid after you find the station; a new station appears at midnight local time for that city.

Tips for DailyMetro

  • Start with a well-known hub or central station to get strong line and ridership clues quickly.
  • In Map mode, use the distance and directional arrow from a correct-line guess to triangulate the target location.
  • Pay attention to letter-match feedback to eliminate many stations that share lines or direction but differ in spelling.
  • Use Photo mode in supported cities to confirm a neighborhood or entrance style when map clues are ambiguous.

DailyMetro FAQ

What is DailyMetro?

DailyMetro is a free browser game where one real metro station is hidden on a chosen network each day and players guess stations using network-based clues. Each guess returns information such as which lines are shared with the mystery station, an approximate direction and distance to it, matching letters and a ridership hint, and finding the station produces a shareable emoji grid.

Is DailyMetro free?

Yes, DailyMetro is free to play with no account or download required. The site explicitly states the game is playable in a browser without signing up, and all current play modes and cities can be accessed at no cost.

When does the station change?

The station changes at midnight in each city's local time zone. That means every player selecting the same city will receive the same daily station until the clock hits midnight for that specific city's timezone.

How many cities can I play?

You can play nine cities now: Paris, New York, London, Berlin, Madrid, Lyon, Washington, Singapore and São Paulo, with thirteen more scheduled by October 2026. Some upcoming networks are already available as betas or by request for early access according to the site.

What do the colours or hints mean?

Green indicates an exact match for a clue such as a letter or line, while other feedback shows relative matches like shared lines, cardinal direction, and distance. The game lists the clue types explicitly and explains that green denotes an exact match, helping you identify correct letters or exact features of the target station.

Is DailyMetro like Wordle?

DailyMetro shares Wordle's daily rhythm but differs in mechanics and subject: instead of guessing a word, you identify a metro station on a real transit network. Each guess returns spatial and network-specific feedback, lines, direction, distance, letters and ridership, rather than the letter-position feedback used by Wordle.

Can I share my results?

Yes, when you find the station you receive an emoji grid that you can share. The site notes that finding the daily station produces a shareable emoji summary of your run, similar to other daily puzzle games' share formats.
